Another problem was performance. I installed Monument Valley and I love, love, love it. Graphics stuttered, and there were visual glitches and other artifacts. So although the skinned device was a lot nicer, it was still starting to wear on me. So I decided to go for it and install CyanogenMod! But not on my device. This device would be my sandbox.
And if I liked it, well, I have a gift idea for what to do with the extra one. Installing CyanogenMod is really quite easy. The online forums are super-confusing, though. A lot is missing or assumed there. You need to download some things before you start. Just keep them on your computer. Get the latest ovation snapshot build and download it to your computer. The tool simg2img converts the sparse image format to a standard image, which loses the sparse information. The flash command shouldn't erase the partition unless the host fastboot tool sends an erase command first.
This allows flashing a very large partition in multiple smaller chunks using multiple sparse images that start with a "skip" block to seek over the already-written area.
Creating these images on demand is already handled by the fastboot host side tool. Sanity checks should be done on radio and bootloader images prior to flashing in unlocked mode. For examples, compare to android-info. Also check bootloader image signature at flash time to make sure it passes validation during boot which might include antirollback features.
On Google-branded devices, flashing to older versions of bootloaders should work properly, starting from the first commercially-shipped bootloader. Content and code samples on this page are subject to the licenses described in the Content License.

Because the Nook Color is designed to boot from a micro-SD Card first by default, the e-reader will run the preloaded CM7 if you select it in the boot menu. I have yet to try this solution out but for those of you who are more experienced with rooting the Nook Color, let us know if the Nook2Android card is worth the money.
Ford just signed a deal to help to tackle the chip shortage problem. Microsoft now has one of the world's fastest supercomputers and no, it doesn't run on Windows. Singapore delays satellite road toll system due to global chip shortage. The curse is flashing, but it does not move from there. I keep it like this for an hour with no further movement. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? I had the same prob first time I tried…stuck on flashing android prompt forever.
I just wiped the sd card and tried a second time. Worked like a charm! Thanks, I tried that a couple of times with no effect. Does it matter what size of memory card. I am tring to use a 16 GB card, should i just stick with 4, or possibly 8? I had the same issue. I just unplugged it from my computer, powered the nook off, and powered it back on.
I have the same question. Did you ever get an answer? My SD card now has 5 partitions and no storage space. One big problem that you failed to mention. Getting the Android Market App downloaded. It seems mighty complicated to me..
Hello, I have all the files downloaded except winimage, I have a mac. Is there a mac version of this program?
Hi, can someone help me with my problem getting honeycomb to nookcolor. I am assuming more memory the better? Is that right? Everything worked like you said, thanks. How do you get to the app store after you have booted the nook with honeycomb? I had attempted several times to turn my nook into a "Nandroid", but all were fails.
Now I'm really enjoying the android and I'm looking forward to learning how to use it to its full potential. How about the reverse, making an Android tablet into a nook or nook hd? Can't find it online. Reply 7 years ago on Introduction. Do a look for "SD Formatter" on most search engines.. I had to do this for a boot SD card on a Raspberry Pi , when it refused to boot, and I couldn't get it to accept a new boot image.
