This is a very thick book for a private practitioner. Practically all factors affecting periodontal disease are being discussed, from epidemiology, etiology, pathology to the treatment and comprehensive management of periodontal disease. Even techniques for periodontal plastic surgery are covered. I find this part most helpful in my private practice which focuses on cosmetic dentistry. The section on implantology is also very useful. All too often, those of us sinking implants are only concerned with bone.
Michael G. What can I say? This textbook is strikingly well-written. Really, a monumental achievement. The writing is incisive, interesting, even fascinating. The illustrations are well-chosen and informative, and the quality of scholarship is consistently excellent throughout its 77 chapters. Probably the best textbook on the subject.
